TEN of Tennessee’s top filmmakers will compete in this timed filmmaking challenge as a part of the 2017 Knoxville Film Festival. Each filmmaker will have 90 days to write, shoot and edit a narrative short film.

To enter, filmmakers must submit a sample of their best short narrative film that they have made in the past. A panel of industry experts will narrow the field and choose the Top 10 filmmakers to compete in the challenge.  The 10 selected filmmakers will be required to pay an entry fee of $50 upon selection.

A Kick-off event will be held on April 29, 2017 where the selected filmmakers will receive instructions for the challenge.  The films will be due no later than July 29, 2017.

All films must not be shorter than 12 minutes or longer than 18 minutes.

All competitors must be legal residents of Tennessee.

The 10 films will be screened at the 2017 Knoxville Film Festival, which will be held September 15-17 in Knoxville, Tennessee, where they will compete against each other and in the general short film competition.

During the awards ceremony, at the close of the KFF, the TN10 top 3 finalists will be revealed and one filmmaker will be named the Best of the Best! AND, the winner will screen at the 2018 Nashville Film Festival!

All accepted filmmakers must agree to allow their TN10 film to be included on a compilation DVD, which will be sold to support the efforts of the Knoxville Film Festival.
